Privacy Policy

Doug's Air Conditioning, Inc. serves Sabine County and the Toledo Bend area. This page tells you what we know about a visit to this website, and what happens to it.

The short version

This site does not have a contact form. There is nothing to type in and submit. Every way to reach us, call or text, goes straight to Doug's team, not a database. We use analytics to see how the site is working, and you can opt out of that anytime. We do not sell your information.

What this website collects on its own

Just by loading a page, your browser shares a few things with us automatically: your IP address and the rough location it points to, your browser and device type, the page that sent you here, and when you visited. That is standard for any website and it happens without you doing anything.

We use two analytics tools to understand how people use this site:

• Google Analytics 4 tracks which pages get visited, how people got here, and general device and location info, so we know what is working.
• Microsoft Clarity records how visitors move through the page, where they click, and how far they scroll. We watch those recordings to see where the site is confusing or where someone gets stuck, so we can fix it. This site has no forms, so there is nothing typed for Clarity to capture, only clicks, scrolling, and movement on the page.

We do not use either tool for advertising or remarketing. Microsoft may still tie Clarity data to its own advertising identifier under its own terms, separate from what we do with it. If you would rather opt out of that too, "Your privacy choices" below covers it.

We also use a handful of outside services to make pages load right, and each of them can see that same basic browser information when a page calls on them:

• Google Fonts and Adobe Typekit, for the typefaces on this site.
• Leaflet (via unpkg), plus CARTO and OpenStreetMap, for map tiles.
• An embedded Google Map on our Contact page.

None of these are ours. Each runs under its own provider's privacy policy, not ours.

After this site goes live, we will also add a website analytics pixel at the network level. It tells us which pages are getting people to a phone or a service call, nothing more. It does not read anything you type, because there is nothing to type. It does not follow you around to other websites with ads. It is analytics, full stop.

Cloudflare, who hosts this site, keeps standard server logs (requested pages, browser type, timestamps) for security and to keep the site running. That is normal for any website host.

Your privacy choices

Analytics runs by default on this site, the same as it does on most websites you visit. If you would rather we not track your visit, click "Your Privacy Choices" in the footer on any page. That brings you to a switch right here on this page, showing whether analytics is on or off for you. Flip it off and it stops right away, no explanation needed. Flip it back on the same way, anytime.

You can also block or clear cookies in your browser's settings, which has a similar effect.

What this website does not collect

No contact form. No account to create. No payment information. No health information. If it is not listed above, this site is not collecting it.

Calls and texts

The fastest way to reach Doug's team is to call or text, and most people do. If you call or text us, we get whatever you tell us, usually your name, phone number, and what is going on with your system, so we can get someone out to you.

That information is used to schedule your service and follow up with you. That is it. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or texting history with anyone for marketing. If you text us, that conversation stays between you and Doug's team.

Cookies

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set cookies in your browser so they can tell one visit from another. The map on our Contact page may set a small cookie too, just to work correctly. Turning off analytics with "Your Privacy Choices" above stops the Google Analytics and Clarity cookies. You can also block or clear any cookie in your browser's settings at any time. Doing that will not stop you from browsing this site, it may just mean the map does not load.

Not for kids

This site is built for homeowners looking for HVAC help. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this page

If anything here changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top. We will not move it. This policy lives at dougsair.com/privacy-policy/, same as it does today.
